Spotlight On Peter Rand Exhibition
National Portrait Gallery 17 April until 16 September 2012
This display celebrated the acquisition of a group of sixteen photographs by Vogue photographer Peter Rand, and the publication of The Day of the Peacock: Style for Men 1963-1973 (2011) which features many of Rand’s fashion photographs.
Born in Dorset, Rand attended Ealing Art and Photographic College, before working as an assistant to Peter Peck at Woburn Studios (1958-9). In 1960, he joined the John French Studios, and in 1962 two of his photographs appeared This display celebrated the acquisition of a group of sixteen photographs by Vogue photographer Peter Rand, and the publication of The Day of the Peacock: Style for Men 1963-1973 (2011) which features many of Rand’s fashion photographs.

This display focused on ten key works from this period which are exhibited for the first time, and includes photographs of actors Peter Wyngarde, Fenella Fielding, Ian Holm, Anna Massey, Sarah Miles with her brother Christopher, Corin Redgrave, Mike Sarne; playwright Harold Pinter with the cast of The Caretaker, singer Dusty Springfield, and entrepreneur Richard Branson. Peter Rand continues to specialise in portraiture and fashion photography

TV TIMES 60th Anniversary Exhibition

TV Times has been in publication since 1955. To celebrate this 60th anniversary and as part of the Merge Festival 2015, the TV listings magazine showcased a selection of exclusive images from its vast archive in two exhibitions in Southwark, London.
Using its unique access to the stars of the time TV Times have curated ‘60 Years – 60 Iconic Images’ which features exclusive images of celebrities of television, sport, music and entertainment shot by some of the greatest British photographers including David Bailey, Cecil Beaton and Patrick Lichfield.

In addition to the 60th anniversary exhibition, Illuminate Productions curated an exhibition of never-before-seen images of some of the biggest music stars from the 1960’s to the early 1908’s. Musicians including James Brown, The Beatles, The Doors and Kate Bush were featured revealing moments in the performance spotlight as well as unguarded, behind the scenes shots.
